GRC, Purview and Security: what changes from E3 to E7

Kiniza GRC engagements treat identity, endpoint posture, and information protection as control evidence for AI readiness. This draft maps the security and compliance story across the three focus suites.

E3 baseline

E3 includes core Purview (manual sensitivity labels, DLP for Exchange/SharePoint/OneDrive, standard audit and eDiscovery search) plus Defender for Endpoint P1 and Defender for Office 365 P1. Advanced Insider Risk, Communication Compliance, and full XDR are typically add-ons.

E5 depth

E5 brings Entra ID P2, Defender XDR (Endpoint/Office/Identity/Cloud Apps P2), advanced Purview, and Security Copilot inclusion as documented. This is the usual destination when regulated operations and SOC maturity are non-negotiable.

E7 and agentic risk

E7 inherits the E5 stack and adds Copilot, Agent 365, and Entra Suite. Purview and Defender capabilities extend toward agent interactions and agentic audit trails as Microsoft documents them. Agent runtime, Cowork multi-step work, and Scout may still incur Copilot Credits, Azure, or GitHub Copilot consumption outside the seat bundle.
